Natural fancy blue diamonds are completely natural and are usually classified as either gray-blue or green-blue. The color in gray-blue, grayish blue, blackish blue or black-blue colored diamonds is caused by the presence of minor amounts of boron in their structure. Green-blue or greenish blue (teal) colored diamonds usually contain nitrogen impurities in aggregate form.
The most famous of all natural colored blue diamonds is the 45.52 carat 'Hope Diamond'. The Hope Diamond was originally 112.25 carats when it was purchased in India and sold to the French King Louis XIV. $569,000 is the most paid per carat for a blue diamond (for a 4.37 carat diamond sold in 1995 at Christie's for $2,486,000).
Natural fancy blue diamonds range from the pale to brilliant blue diamonds and intense blue diamonds.
Natural fancy blue diamonds come in all cuts, including princess, emerald, asscher, oval marquise, pear, radiant, heart and cushion, though round natural fancy blue diamonds are the most common.

Natural fancy Green diamonds are completely natural and caused by exposure to atomic radiation. After natural fancy red diamonds, natural loose green diamonds are the second rarest.
"…The approximately 41 carat Dresden Green diamond is the largest, and perhaps the finest, green diamond known to have a colour of natural origin," (source: Kane, 1990).
"In the diamond industry, green diamonds are highly valued and greatly admired, especially pure green coloured diamonds that show no trace of secondary colour modifiers," (source: S.C. Hofer. 1988).
The seven natural color grades for natural fancy colored diamonds are, in ascending order, faint, very light, light, fancy, fancy intense, fancy vivid and fancy deep. Fancy vivid and fancy deep the most desired hues.

Natural fancy pink diamonds are completely natural and caused by a process called 'plastic deformation' when pink graining is caused by a natural deformation of the diamond crystal while it is in a semi-solid state. Most fancy natural pink diamonds come from the Argyle mine in northwestern Australia. "…A pink diamond has long been considered one of the rarest colored diamonds." (source: S.C. Hofer, Pink Diamonds from Australia, 1985).

Red, purple and orange are the secondary hues found in natural fancy pink diamonds.
Today, the pink diamond is playing the role of Cupid among the colored diamonds. Ben Affleck purchased a 6.1 carat pink diamond ring for his engagement to Jennifer Lopez and David Beckham gave his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria 'Posh' Adams a $1.8 million pink diamond apology ring following his public indiscretion.
Natural fancy pink diamonds come in all cuts, including princess, emerald, asscher, oval marquise, pear, radiant, heart and cushion, though round natural fancy pink diamonds are the most common.

Natural fancy Orange diamonds are completely natural and caused by the presence of nitrogen and carbon lattice.
"…pure orange diamonds are … exceptionally rare naturally, which is why they are desirable collectors specimens." (source: S.C. Hofer, 1988).
Because pure orange is a mixture of the primary colors red and yellow, the natural fancy orange diamonds range from orange red diamond to yellow orange diamonds. Red, orange, pink, purple and yellow are the secondary hues found in natural fancy orange diamonds.
Because of the rarity of orange diamonds, collectors seek after even enhanced orange diamonds.

Green and orange are the secondary hues found in natural fancy yellow diamonds.
Natural yellow diamonds are referred to as canary yellow diamonds when their color is strong and they possess unique physical characteristics. In such cases, the yellow diamond can be referred to as a canary yellow diamond.
Though the yellow diamond was once considered an impure white diamond, today there is greater understanding of and demand for canary diamonds
Unlike with other fancy colored diamonds, pure dark tones do not exist with yellow or canary diamonds. Though canary diamonds are relatively dark, pure dark tones with yellow diamonds become either brownish or greenish.
Natural fancy canary yellow diamonds come in all cuts, including princess, emerald, asscher, oval marquise, pear, radiant, heart and cushion, though round natural fancy yellow diamonds are the most common. Princess canary diamonds are quite rare

Natural fancy Champagne colored diamonds, sometimes referred to as a brown diamonds, are completely natural and caused by the absorption of light by structural defects in the diamond lattice. Many of the fancy natural Champagne diamonds come from the Argyle mine in northwestern Australia. In fact, the Argyle Mine coined the terms "champagne diamond" and "cognac diamond" to better promote these loose champagne diamonds.
Natural fancy Champagne diamonds come in all cuts, including princess, emerald, asscher, oval marquise, pear, radiant, heart and cushion.
Though brown diamonds of the champagne diamond color are considered commercially common, they still offer a bargain for today's collectors. Natural fancy champagne colored diamonds of pure brown colors without a trace of a secondary color modifier are sold at public auctions. The 69.93-carat natural fancy champagne colored rectangular emerald cut Golden Pelican was auctioned at Christie's in the 1970s
